Top Gear Lap Boards

Every Top Gear Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, every Formula 1 driver in the Liana, and the cars on the Power Lap board at Dunsfold. Search a name or a car and see where they landed.

How to read the boards

Times are not comparable between boards. Each board uses a different car (and the Power Lap board is the Stig in road cars), so positions are counted within a board only. Boards were reset whenever the car changed, so older stars never faced the newer cars.

Dry-equivalent times

Top Gear left wet-weather times as they were driven and treated them as allowances when ranking. Ticking the box above subtracts these amounts from celebrity laps. They were never applied to F1 drivers, so those laps are always shown as driven.

Condition	Allowance
Hot / Cold	1 second
Mildly moist / Damp	2 seconds
Moist	3 seconds
Wet / Melted snow	4 seconds
Very wet	6 seconds

Sources and gaps

Compiled from the Wikipedia pages for the Top Gear test track, Star in a Reasonably Priced Car and the Power Lap list, plus Top Gear's own fastest-20 list. The Power Lap board also draws on a fan-compiled copy of the board for the slower cars (marked “Fan list”). I left out entries there I couldn’t identify. Top Gear regularly removed times from the physical board, and a few sources disagree by a tenth or so, so treat this as a thorough reference rather than an official record.
